Personalize your LinkedIn invitations

I recieve many LinkedIn invitations from people I don't know that simply contain the standard text provided by LinkedIn, "Since you are a person I trust, I wanted to invite you to join my network on LinkedIn." This invitation doesn't make any sense if I don't know you. How can you trust me if we have never met? I like to build constructive relationships and believe this activity requires authenticity. Standard introductions do not reflect authenticity.

Hi Todd. I want to thank you for personally pointing that out to me. Trust is not something readily given by most people and yet, there are those who trust all until proven wrong in doing so. In an atmosphere right here at LinkedIn, we would like to be encouraged and inspired by the people we connect to, gain new friends or associates, possibly learn a thing or two, and most assuredly, glean a better insight into this professional world of ours. Trust is a pretty strong word. I rather think of credibility and integrity. I would definitely do well with those being met as I communicate from time to time with those here on LinkedIn. And I rather use my own words too in doing so Todd. Thanks again for the "heads up".
